VISION
Provide accessible health promotion programs and services to improve quality of life for veterans.

VALUES
At the core of all living beings dwells the gift of Integrity. Packaged within are courage, determination, trustworthiness and wisdom. When we are aware of this gift, there is no compromising true self. Along the way, we will continue to live as good examples by remembering that what we do in our own lives - our own choices and our own actions - identifies our character and exposes our Integrity.

Welcome!
For many veterans, fading away oftenFaded Soldier means homelessness.  In the United States, there are approximately 200,000 homeless veterans on any given day, and almost double this number over a one-year period.  A ray of hope is that capable individuals like you take the necessary actions to make a difference.

Wishing Well, Inc. presents its inaugural Newsletter, designed to keep you informed about the challenges faced by many veterans and the great strides taken to overcome those challenges.  The Newsletter will also offer updates on the initiatives being undertaken by Wishing Well and its partners and sponsors to deliver quality, innovative programs for positive change.

Please continue to pray for our soldiers who are away, and also remember those who have returned broken and disheveled, homeless and stricken with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We ask that you share this Newsletter with your friends and family by clicking the Forward to a Friend link at the bottom of this email.

With the onset of Veterans Day, we kickoff of an important fundraiser: Friends for Cause (Spare Change?) Campaign.  Scroll down for more information.

Browse our website for more on how you can help.  Until our next issue, be well!

  Who Are Homeless Veterans?
Who Are VeteransOne out of every three homeless men who is sleeping under bridges, on benches, in doorways, alleys, boxes or other unsuitable places has served in the armed forces.  Almost all homeless veterans are males; about 3% are women.  The majority is single; most come from poor, disadvantaged communities.  They are between the ages of 20 and 85+.  About 45% suffer from mental illness and around 70% struggle with alcoholism or drug abuse problems.  TBI or PTSD may also be factors.  Members of the homeless veteran population have served in WWII, Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or the military's anti-drug cultivation efforts in South America.

Homeless Veterans are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, friends, co-workers and neighbors.
